The Beaver Dam Golf Course is a golf course located in the hamlet of Madden, which is directly west of Crossfield. It is also directly reachable from Calgary's Symons Valley Road.
The course is owned by L. A. Walsh and family. It is a relatively short course, but is very technical in nature and for the most part is target golf.
The front nine at this course has a terrain that is quite hilly at times. The fourth hole is a tough 185 yard par three from an elevated tee to a small elevated green. There is little room for error here. The seventh hole is a short par four that can be driven with a bold drive, but a miss of this nature is probably lost.
The back nine was the original nine of the course, and once started with a 655 yard par five. A project in 2003 resulted in this hole being replaced with two long par fours following the route of the original 17th and 18th holes. The 18th hole was moved west and remained a par five.
This is one of the lesser expensive courses in the Calgary area and is quite popular.
