Bowling Depot
Calgary Community wiki
The Bowling Depot is a five-pin bowling centre located in the Deerfoot Outlet Mall in northeast Calgary.
The Bowling Depot formerly operated in the Huntington Hills area of Calgary as Centennial Bowlerama before moving to its current location in 1998. The facility was once owned by Alberta Bowlerama. However, the Bowling Depot separated from Alberta Bowlerama shortly after their move to Deerfoot Mall. The facility is now family-owned.
The current facility consists of 24 lanes and has a full sound system with a digital jukebox. The food service is a Pizza Hut Express. The glow bowling system is known as Thunder Alley. According to the website, the center runs a total of 14 leagues covering mixed, youth and women's. It has hosted several provincial championships including Youth Bowling Canada.
The center is equipped with Qubica/AMF Bowland X scoring. This system offers a slot machine game that is used during the centre's summer contest and spring league. In early 2006, the centre added murals along its side walls that glow during Thunder Alley. Two Winnie The Pooh murals were added to the center's birthday party room.
Several upgrades happened in 2008. The centre opened a second birthday party room themed after Nemo. The Thunder Alley light show was refurbished, adding fog and laser capability. The gutters were upgraded in March 2008. This upgrade equipped all 24 lanes with bumpers.
