Tubby Dog is a hotdog restaurant on 17th Ave. Former "Calgary's favourite bartender" Jon Truch has taken his infamous hotdog night from the Night Gallery and made a restaurant out of it: Tubby Dog features giant hot dogs will all the fixings you could imagine (and many you probably wouldn't, like the "Sumo Dog" with wasabi, japanese mayo, pickled ginger and toasted sesame seeds), a pinball table ("Funhouse" (rules) as of now), bottled beer and cartoons. You can also get pickled eggs ($1), dixie cups complete with wooden "spoon" ($1), assorted twinkies, and various hotdogs (1/4 classic dog, all beef dogs, junior dogs, veggie "Not" dogs and a 1/2 pound family-recipe Ukrainian sausage). Onion rings, yam fries and tubby chips ( home cut fries) are also available.
This author has not yet spotted Truch in his hotdog costume at Tubby Dog yet, but he's holding out hope...
Tubby also offers many weekly and monthly events. Every Friday is the "Turnaround", a night of Fordinho and Tubby himself spinning tacks all night long. Mondays: they show "The Wire" (TV show) at 9 pm, Tuesdays it is 90210 night with mini dog specials, pilsner drink specials and new and old episodes of BH 90210! The First Tuesday of every month is an open jam poetry night and the first thursday of every month is an open social for geeks and nerds! brought to you by the Comic and Entertainment Expo!
Also, there is live music almost every Saturday night.

Tubby Dog is amazing! I have driven from Edmonton just to have one!! Social issue. How much gasoline did you use? Did you buy it from a warrior pump? If so, did you give it a noogie? We are being provided with a new medical facility, and all I hear is something about parking spaces! Have you idiots ever heard of a taxi?
